Mock Exams
Just to let parents know, we have our mock NCEA exams coming up from 15
September until 19 September inclusive. The purpose of these exams is to
inform students of where their strengths and weaknesses are with exam technique
and their knowledge base.
From this it is expected that students may
individualise their study programs and take responsibility for their learning.
This is an important exercise and I hope that all parents and caregivers take
this opportunity to get involved with students' learning.
We appreciate the
support from home as this is a vital part of the learning process.
Here are a
few ideas to help at home:
- Check if the
student has a study program including times set aside for study and which
subjects/ topics to cover within that time.
- Check if they are
up to date with taking brief study notes from their class notes.
- Make sure they are
not over-burdened with other commitments and that they manage their time.
- Help them to set up
an area to work in with minimum distractions remembering that some students
require silence while some need quiet background noise.
- Get them to double
check what exams they have and when they are.
If you need any advice or support about this,
please contact the College.
