Presentation at National Conference

Assistant Principal Tina Aomarere recently
presented at the national Learning @ Schools conference in Rotorua attended by
over 1200 teachers and educationalists.
Ms Aomarere was invited to show how she and other staff at the College
use our Learning Management System, called ‘Moodle'. Her enthusiasm for the use of ‘Moodle' as a
teaching and learning tool was obvious and was well received by conference
delegates. Well done Ms Aomarere on
teaching the rest of New
Zealand on how it is done.
All our junior students use their ‘Moodle'
to receive and complete work from their teachers online. The ‘Moodle' enables students to be involved
with interactive lessons which can give them instant feedback on how well they
understand their work or enable them to undertake various activities in the
virtual world.
Parents who wish to see what their children
are doing can do so from home if they have internet access. Students can also use their ‘Moodle' from
home to review work, test themselves, take quizzes which assist learning. In
the near future parents will also be able to view student information online
from our Student Management System (KAMAR) including information on attendance,
NCEA results etc.
