Organisation & Subjects
At Year 11 level our option
system allows for a wide range of subject combinations. As well as courses designed for those
entering the National Certificate in Educational Achievement examination, the
College provides a multi-level programme in Unit Standard English and Unit
Standard Mathematics in which students can achieve Unit Standards and
Achievement Standards in Levels 1 and 2.
This provides a sound academic programme in both Literacy and Numeracy
skills. Students in Years 11, 12 and 13
can opt for these two subjects. Students
choose a year's course of five subjects in Year 11 and in Year 12.
At
Year 12 and Year 13 level a full range of academic, vocational and practical
subjects are offered. Students are
expected to enter as candidates for the internal and external examinations, and
awards wherever possible - NCEA Level 2 and 3 Achievement and Unit Standards -
full details of these courses are available from Senior Deans and the
curriculum handbook. For all information
on senior courses and options please consult with the Dean of the appropriate
level.
